Hello Again, KL!

Supposedly a short trip to KL to speak in the Inspiring Orchid Conference 2016 which became a mini family holiday because S, Shahmeer and my mom decided to come. So happy! :)

Lips, Colors, Love

I am in love with the new Revlon Ultra HD™ Matte Lipcolor! There are so many reasons why. To begin with; the colors. All 8 colors are so wearable for everyday wear, and I can see myself trying all different colors each day. Even the names are so cute! Revolving around “love”, the lipstick colors are named Devotion, Obsession, Addiction, Temptation, Love, Seduction, Flirtation, dan Passion. So adorable, yes?

 photo 7_zpsj8oh4fs7.jpg

The lipstick itself provides a matte finish yet feels very gentle and light to the lips. It’s pigmented enough even with just one-time apply. It feels very creamy too because it’s 100% wax free. The matte finish happens gradually so it doesn’t make your lips instantly dry. I love it! And oh, they also come with vanilla scent. Price wise? Only Rp.110.000.

It was a great honor for me to be a part of their launch, knowing that Revlon is all about empowering women to love themselves and embrace their uniqueness happily. Revlon’s objective is to provide products that make women love themselves, and that is by looking and feeling beautiful. Because after all, the joy of makeup is when it makes you love yourself even more, don’t you think? And because when you love yourself, you are capable of spreading love to others.

I’ll be reviewing more about Revlon Ultra HD™ Matte Lipcolor in my next posts so stay tuned, ladies!

About Happiness

I have been wondering why I have been feeling less and less happy over time. I achieve more, I create more, however my level of happiness seems to decline, slowly, unconsciously.

It took me 2 hours sitting alone inside a cafe, drinking Earl Grey tea and enjoying myself a bowl of Truffle Chips to finally understand the decline of happiness inside of me. It is social media.

Social media has made me compare myself with others a little too much. On Instagram, I would see pictures of pretty girls and think, "she's so pretty". And my mind doesn't stop there, it goes on by thinking "oh look she's in NY, I wish I was there", "how nice she gets to gym regularly, I wish I had the time too", "her birthday party is so awesome", "I've never been to Maldives", "whattttt she has that bag already? It was just launched last month!". And not enough on Instagram, I start stalking them on Snapchat. I stalk what they eat, where they are, who they're with, and I feel happy for their awesome lives. Little did I know, this feeling, however, made myself feel less awesome, and hence less happy. Social media has accommodated this invisible competition among us youth, and believe me, it is unhealthy.

I have now started to filter the people and things I see on social media. If these accounts have an intimidating effect over my own self-confidence, I shall unfollow. And I use social media more for business nowadays. As for personal, I find more peace by just writing on this blog and create contents that I think might be useful for others on Youtube without having to care how many people read my post and watch my videos. When it comes to information on social media, less is more. I do not need to know everything, every time. Remember, keep the glass half empty, always.

It's His Birthday!

 photo IMG_7525_zpst6nq9inn.jpg photo IMG_7544_zpsgdkhhmfz.jpg

Happy birthday, S! May your new age bring you more love, peace, wisdom, strength, sincerity, empathy, humility, positivity, patience, and room for forgiveness as I will always make mistakes as a wife and mother. May we grow old together in a world full of passion and dreams that is a world of our own. I love you! ❤️

My Colorful Day

Attended Socmed Awards 2016 held by RCTI today because:
  1. I got nominated as "Blogger Of The Year"
  2. I was asked to appear on stage together with Bayu Skak to announce the nominees and winner for "Facebook Fanpage of The Year"
Such a fun yet scary experience as the whole show was broadcasted live hahah! But it all went fine, I think...;p

The "Blogger Of The Year" award was won by Anak Jajan (congratulatiooooonnns!), while the latter was won by Mario Teguh. Woohoo! :)

Quote of The Day

If you have a firm grasp of who you are, it’s difficult for someone to say or do something that gets your goat. Emotionally intelligent people are self-confident and open-minded, which creates a pretty thick skin. You may even poke fun at yourself or let other people make jokes about you because you are able to mentally draw the line between humor and degradation.

Jump High!

Soooo mannyyyyyy new exciting things are happening and it freaks me out. To be able to push yourself again and again once you are inside a comfort zone, it's a good kind of thrill. Focus on progressing, not competing. Bismillah.

Simplicity of Life

If I could sum up the things I have learned over the past 30 years of my life, it would be:
  1. Never stop believing
  2. Never stop trying
  3. Always be grateful
  4. Always be kind

Stillness

S has been asking me why I am rather quieter these past few weeks. Even when S and I reach disagreements which usually more often lead to arguments, I nowadays choose to stay quiet and just say, "maybe you are right". S thinks that I am angry in my silence, while in fact, I am at peace.

I have found peace in stillness. After all these years, I have finally acquired a new skill that is surprisingly most simple yet effective in combating the chaos of this world. I sort of just pull myself out of all the noise, and stay quiet. Still and peaceful. I have found peace in not having to always prove myself that I am right, in not having to raise my tone just to make a point, in not having to tell someone that I disagree with you. I have learned that life is simpler when I focus on listening to my own breath as I inhale and exhale slowly, rather than to sounds that do not even make any sense.

Practicing Good Habits

Set Daily Goals
It's good to set goals for your future, but thinking too far ahead can sometimes make you lazy because unconsciously, we like to think that the future is still a looooong loooog way to go. Setting daily goals keeps you on track, making sure you become productive every day, and that each day is a step closer to your dreams. How? Make a daily to-do-list and make sure you tick them all by the end of the day!

Schedule your life
Don't get lost in work. Make sure you note down every single homework, meeting and plan. Make sure your schedule is not overly ambitious because every one needs to breathe. Don't try to remember all your schedules too, because it will tire your brain. Note everything down on paper because writing is like emptying your brain. Un-clutter your brain by having a monthly planner too so you have an overview on how busy your month will get so you can mentally prepare.

Do, now.
Never, procrastinate. Make it a habit to DO IT A.S.A.P. Remember, you have things on your to-do-list and you gotta make sure they are all ticked off by the end of the day. Having this kind of attitude might even make your dreams come true earlier than you think!

Exercise
Exercising is healthy. Sweating is healthy. Keeping your body move not only makes you physically healthy, but also mentally happy. When you are happy, you are more productive. When you are more productive, you are more likely to reach your dreams, don't you think? Exercising is good for you. It is worth your time. And just try to see it like this: each day you exercise, you live one day longer. Amiiiiiiiiin.

Spend time with your loved ones
I believe that in order to succeed, we need blessing from the people we love. Otherwise, the view will be lonely from the top. Therefore, make sure you make time for the people you love. Family, friends. Quality time with them should make you happier and your soul filled with good energy.

Rest and relax.
As much as you're willing to work your a** off to reach your dreams, you gotta let your brain and body rest. Relax. Unwind. When you're relaxed, you'll even get more ideas or even new ways on how to reach your dreams. Have enough sleep every day. Go for massage. Go pamper yourself. Read self-improvement books, or cheesy novels that fill your heart with love. Watch movies you love. Listen to good music. Just unwind.

Evaluate.
After everything has been done, never forget to evaluate your day. Try to recall what happened. No matter how good or bad your day went, there is always, always a lesson to learn. Remember, only by having the will to learn you will be able to progress in life and eventually, reach your dreams!

UP for "Happa by Mel Ahyar"

Last week, Up collaborated with the highly coveted label, Happa by Mel Ahyar, for Jakarta Fashion & Food Festival 2016.

Our Kirana sandals were a match made in heaven when worn together with Happa's new collection, "Lady Lama".

Below were what we showcased in the fashion show, just before the runway started and the music sang into our souls. The whole collaboration was beautiful!

Now I Know

Currently reading this "What I Know For Sure" book by Oprah Winfrey. In almost every page, my eyes water. It is a really, really, really good book that touches my heart and soul so much.

 photo IMG_6090_zpsoeteyhz1.jpg

I myself grew up watching her show, and I guess she contributed a lot in shaping the way I think about life. About gratitude in particular.

Anyway, this book heals me, and my long weekend is definitely well spent. My heart feels fuller, in a good way.

Here are a few of my favorite parts:
